Air Purification Equipment – Suggestions

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) problems have been defined by the U.S. Government as being one of the top environmental health problems in the USA today. We are suffering from a literal epidemic of allergies and asthma, and, if you are reading this webpage, you probably are aware of this. We are spending upwards of 80% to 90% of our time indoors, and we are suffering from indoor environments that, for energy reasons, have been tightly insulated and sealed, and are trapping allergens inside.

The mischief is largely being done by a myriad of indoor pollutants by which we are constantly assailed almost everywhere we are indoors.

A generally established list of these pollutants comprises:

  • Bacteria & Viruses
  • Dust Mite feces & body parts
  • Cockroach/insect feces & body parts
  • Pollens
  • Molds
  • Chemicals – including residual pesticides from years gone by
  • Odors
  • Dander
  • Smoke
  • Mouse & rat urine

Yum.

To this list can also be added static electricity. Static electricity – or, as it is better defined, an imbalance between positive and negative ions – besides causing computer problems, etc. results in, for most people, a stuffy, “uncomfortable” indoor environment. The outdoor environment provides a suitable balance between positive and negative ions (electrical charges) in the air – with a preponderance of negative ions – which results in a comfortable, “natural” feeling environment.

We believe that the most effective way to purify the indoor air environment is with air purifiers that reproduce indoors the same way in which Nature, using the wonderful, cleansing power of a thunderstorm, UV radiation from the sun, the wind and the waves, purifies the outdoor environment. Have you ever experienced the fresh, “new world” feeling that is present outdoors after a thunderstorm? Then, you have experienced the same types of benefits that our air purifiers will provide to your indoor environment!

We carry two different brands of such air purifiers; however, we typically sell only one manufacturer’s products. These units will effectively reduce or eliminate a wide array of indoor, environmental pollutants such as those listed above. At least one of these air purifiers (made by Vollara) has been scientifically proven to eliminate odors, smoke and tobacco smoke. Tobacco smoke is one of the most complex of indoor contaminants, containing upwards of thousands of chemicals!

It has also been scientifically proven to eliminate MRSA as well as H1N1 on surfaces, and other validations are in progress.

These air purifiers variously use two technologies to effectively purify the indoor air environment:
(1) Ionization
(2) Oxidation

Ionization is a process whereby particles in the air are “swept”, or, dropped out, so that the air is cleansed. This is not a filtration process; instead, the particles everywhere in the indoor air environment in a 60-ft. radius from the air purifier are ionized and then drop out of the air.

Oxidation is another natural process whereby organic compounds/pollutants (read “allergens”) are oxidized – i.e., broken down and either greatly reduced or eliminated. These pollutants include pollens, molds, chemical gases, bacteria, dander, smoke and other, irritating contaminants.

Ionization is accomplished in several ways. Our most popular air purifier uses a totally proprietary, RF technology that ionizes the air in a 60-foot radius so that particles drop out. This technology offers tremendous advantages over traditional ionization designs in that one machine can now ionize very large areas – a whole house, suite of offices, large bar or beauty salon, etc. This ionization works particularly well to cause the very tiny (sub-micron – below 1 micron in size) allergens that are causing the greatest problems to be dropped out. This is very important because these sub-micron particles escape the body’s upper defense mechanisms – i.e., mucous membranes, nose hairs, etc. – to lodge deep in the lung sacs where it is then a major effort for the body to move them back up and out.

A second type of ionization – using a traditional needle ionizer – also causes particles in the vicinity of such air purifiers to be rapidly dropped from the air. This is especially helpful, for example, in a room full of cigar smokers. The smoke is cleared from the air quite rapidly using this process – the RF ionization, on the other hand, works more slowly but over a great range of space.

Oxidation is a straightforward process whereby oxidizers break an organic compound down into harmless components. These air purifiers are precisely calibrated to produce natural outdoor, trace amounts of O3 – about .02 ppm (2/100 of one part of ozone to 1 million parts of air); or, by using hydroxyls produced by an RCI (Radiant Catalytic Ionization) cell. The ozone can be switched on and off so that the RCI cell only is used if desired.

Ozone is that natural, fresh clean smell that oneself experiences outdoors – most often after a thunderstorm. Some people have become nervous about the use of ozone; however, it is simply Nature’s triate (3-part) form of oxygen. It is a naturally occuring oxidizer and works well even at trace amounts to help cleanse the indoor environment. This oxidation process in these air purifiers works to cleanse the indoor air environment up to 3,000 square feet with traditional, 8-foot ceiling heights.

We cannot say enough good things about our air purifiers; however, don’t just take our word for it but “Click” here to connect to our webpage containing testimonial letters from some of our hundreds of pleased customers.

These air purifiers are compact and weigh very little. They should be placed up about 60% – 70% of the ceiling height of a room (at least five feet high) and are to be run continuously. They use extremely low electrical consumption – typically, the same electricity as a 30-watt lightbulb – about 8 cents a day – and should last at least 10 years when operated on a continuous basis. These terrific, all-natural Fresh Air air purifiers will effectively handle from 150 square feet up to 3,000 square feet – making them the single most cost effective solution to dealing with indoor air pollutants!
